About the event
The seventh limb of yoga ‘dhyana’, roughly translated as ‘meditation’ or ‘absorption’, became ‘chan’ when it arrived in China in the 500-600 CE, and later became ‘zen’ in Japan. Bringing together symbiotic yogic and buddhist meditative practices, Jesse’s class combines the dynamic vinyasa with the peaceful zazen, drawing from the traditional practice of ‘moving zen’ to awaken our true nature, the perfect peace that is inherent in all of us. Practice includes a dynamic asana sequence, breathing techniques, buddhist and yogic meditations, the use of a singing bowl and relaxing music to guide us into the flow. Pace is mindful and alignment-focused.
